A couple weeks ago, we did not get published that there were several additions to Gilbert Earl Douthit and some living descendants!
This week we got another email from Steve Casteel and have been able to add Gilbert’s wife’s name
I could not resist and added the 1910 census to the family. Hope to do more soon.

Grover Perkins has done a lot of work putting his family tree together and graciously send a photo of William and Myra Townsend and family. You have to see it to truly appreciate it. What a lovely family!
We took a little more time to try to figure out the situation with the second wife, and decided to leave things alone for now. More census work needs to be done, but the conclusion easily reached is the first wife was Myra Myrtle Angeline Douthit. She died when the children were young, so William married the next sister, Lucy.

Kathie Mitchell wrote to us, sending the information that brings the Richard and Sarah Crow Douthit family to today! This is a great addition! We did not have a lot of time to work on the family, but snuck in a few things:
- Richard & Sarah Douthit family of three children
- William & Ruby Dowthitt family of two children
- Jimmie & Ellen Marie Dowthitt family of nine children plus two more
- More that we cannot mention here! This is great!!!
- William and Martha Dowthitt family 1880 census
- Earl and Joanne Smith family 1910 census
- William and Ruby Dowthitt family 1930 census
- Much more time needs to be invested in this family!

Beth Sarney sent us information about some very key evidence in the identity of Samuel Douthitâ??s wife! It turns out she was Polly Ann Motlow, and her father was Malachia Motlow. The congressional record was located that she mentioned and a copy of it attached to the family. So, while we had the names listed as alternates, they are now moved to the primary name.
We then worked on adding the ancestors of Malachia Motlow, pushing the tree back in time and adding 165 individuals and 71 families, as well as a few more cemeteries! The data cleanup was frustrating as usual, but the merge went very smoothly with no overlaps.

April Betts is from the Fry family which is connected to the Douthit family tree. We did some more work there, but since folks are living, well, we wonâ??t say more!
