Graphic Files all broken

Howdy all! There was a fatality in the process of moving to a new website. Something went wrong and we had to remove all the images and their links from the new setup, since they were duplicated! So now we have to go through each of the over 1700 files and tell them what category they belong to, what album they go to, and where their thumbnails are, and whether or not they are the default image for each person.

In short, this is going to take many hours of work to restore, so they will be appearing as we have time to sift through the huge pile. I do hope for this reason alone that we will not have to move again very soon. This job is huge and follows many hours of trying to move things. So in the meanwhile, please be patient! You can certainly point things out and those items will be handled with a priority over the general list.

So what does this mean? It means work on other aspects of the family tree has to take a back seat till this project is restored. I will be so glad when I can sit back and know that there is a family line that is completely done and current and only needs to be looked at to add current events or recovered photos and information.

Website Directories

We have added the update blogs to each directory page! Now instead of having to go to the special blog setup, you can see the updates in each Family Directory page! Enjoy!

We also made a special date graphic for the setup to add a little spice to the pages.

I did not realize there were so many directory pages! We still have a few more to turn back on, but we certainly have more than I expected! I also did not realize that so much gets done. Seeing the news on some families I did not think I had worked on for a while was surprising. I really like this new setup! Hope you like it too.

As I installed this, I updated the code on the pages and made some other changes. Now that I have a news section with each directory page, I will work on making the headings more appropriate and the links also become more valuable. So that is the plan now, to include more links to the people that get updates!

Oh, and another change, we dropped the â??Updatesâ? button from the main menu, since it is not important anymore!

John Croeni family tree

The John Croeni family tree is now all moved to the database. This is a family that needs much more work, and so we did add a few new items, but hope to return to do much more. If you can help us, please use our website to send us more information. It would really be nice to get some photos for this family too! To see the family tree, use the following link.

Ben Croeni family

This family had it’s own link on the Schunke family page, but it has been inactive for some time, awaiting the moving of the gathered information to the database. It is now done, and we added a bit more, and several more photos. We have several more photos for this section, but need to process them and get them entered in the future. We do need to get some photos of living family members and more information about where the family members are living and what they do. But finally the link is now active and you can see the family tree by using the following link:

The Ben and Lil Croeni family tree.

Gustave and Lydie Schunke family

Well the Gustave and Lydie Rich Schunke family is now entered into the family tree database! I am so glad to see it done! There have been some additions and changes, and I sure hope we can get photos of the family sometime. The Rich family came from a town right on the edge of Switzerland, so it was in France when they came and of course they were actually German people.

Can you add more to this family? Please use the tabs that enable family members to add information. We would be so very appreciative for anything you can share! To see the family use the following link:

We are now left with just four more Schunke families to convert! The ones left however have some tough puzzles to re-examine.

Gustav and Fredericka Schunke family

Well, it is now down to just three family folders! I am a bit apprehensive as to how to handle these last three, but God willing, it will get done in short order.

Gustav was a Baptist Pastor that served the last years of his life in Salem, Oregon. He has a large family and it seems most of his living relatives do not know him! What a shame! I sure wish I could get more information on this man. Did he go to Seminary, if so, where? Are there photos of his family members we could get? Were there other churches he served God at? We do have some information from his brother, another Baptist pastor, but would like to get more on Gustav. Please let us know anything you might know or who might know about him! To see his family use the following link and please use the tabs to send us any information you might have:

Fred Vetter family updated

We were able to update the Fred Vetter family and get our old data retired! There has been a bunch of events and family members added as well. It is still a very small grouping, but at least it is there and progressing.

Fred Vetter had only two daughters. One married a Karges, and the other was single all her life. Pete and Edna Karges do not seem to have had any children, but one record was found that they do indeed have one living child. I don’t know if this is true or not. If it is, I would sure like to get in contact with this person or find out about who it is! If you have information, please let me know.

Another question is how did “Pete” get that nickname? His name is Lewis Joseph Karges.

At any rate, should you like to see what we have, none of if it marked private at this time. Use the following link:

Gustav and Rowena Schunke updated

Last night was a tough night, with lots of horrible pain. So, I worked on the list of geographic locations, and got a bunch of them done. Then later in the day we were able to get Gustav and Rowena Schunke’s family shifted over to this setup. This brings the pile of Schunke families left to convert to about 10! It was just a few weeks ago, I thought it would be years before this family got transferred!
