    Occupation Abt 1890
    Diety Analyzed
    • He had a book published his last year on earth by Truth Seeker Company of New York. It was 275 pages and consisted of six lectures:
      The Creator
      The Creator Continued
      The Creator Concluded
      The Supreme Ruler
      The Messiah or Savior
      The Messiah or Savior Concluded

The book is very obscure and written from pure ignorance of Biblical fact or theology. It is the philosophy developed in his own mind to overcome the facts of Hell and a Holy God that demands obedience.

The first chapter launches in a distorted attack on the stories of the Bible, mixed with very heathenistic philosophies of high churches (Roman Catholic, Anglican, etc.). He tries to prove that God is lawless and there is no such thing as science or reason for as the basis for the events chronicled in Scripture. He does have a point as far as the extra-Biblical inventions that drunken and immoral priests have generated, but as far as Scriptural fact and the existance of miracles divinely appointed to make God known to mankind, he does not have the slightest understanding or interest in understanding. He further claims that scientists all work in harmony, loving friendship and for the benefit of mankind! Obviously he had not been around a group of three or more scientists! He then claims that religion is all about disharmoney, damnation and obliteration of everyone. Of course he totally ignores the fact that it is Christianity that brings peace and harmony, and secular humanism that brings racism and bloody wars.

The second chapter scorns the truth that God is eternal, stuck in the idea that God is finite, and refusing to accept infinity. He is also very crippled by the idea that in Biblical times people were crude, naieve, and without "scientific" knowledge. He claims the earth was created flat and the heavens were flat, contrary to clearly worded verses of Scripture. His delusive mind confuses what mystic theologians teach and the facts declared in the Scriptures. He then attacks correctly the assumption that the word day in the Creation story of Genesis 1 is actually ages. The whole preposterous notion that a clearly defined day is more than that and just a figurative statement, means the Bible lies and deceives by misuse of wording. We wholeheartedly agree with his points, albeit a vain attempt to cast theology as nothing more than lies and invented concepts.

In the third chapter he attempts to prove the Bible makes preposterous statements about the world and its foundations. Unfortunately, his closed mind distorts the Hebrew words used and creates a very wrong understanding of the passages. In short, his total reliance on only physical and visible (concrete concepts) laws keeps him from looking at the context of the verses or accept non-physical or unseen (in our day) facts. The very verses he takes and mangles are actually very scientific facts and natural laws. One of his problems seems to stem from being familiar more with Latin then Hebrew and interpreting Hebrew concepts from possible Latin definitions, when in fact the languages are the other way around. Latin words were developed to try to convey Hebrew concepts and words, but often misapplied and defined in very un-Semetic interpretations with no understanding of Jewish ideals or meanings.

The fourth chapter takes aim at God and continues his portrayal of God as a horrible and unpredicable monster, completely for slavery and as a monarch very anti-republican. Of course the whole point of slavery only lasting 6 years at the most is ignored, as well as the fact that representative goverment comes from Biblical instruction on how the Israeli government was to be set up. He goes to great length distorting Scripture to prove that God invented evil and forces people to be and do evil, forgetting that God gives free-will of choice and actions to all humans.
